Shimmers

  • A site specific cutout installation made of one roll of polyester mesh cut
Shimmers, 2021

Main Window Dumbo, Brooklyn, NY, USA
Organized by Jeffrey Wallace

Shimmers is a multidimensional environment created on site for Main Window Dumbo. As one walks by the window, one discovers layered shapes of mesh which as they interfere one with another, reveal volumes and subjects. The piece is made of a continuous roll of window screen, cut freehand in space without removing any part of it. This sustainable system allows empty and filled spaces, figuration and abstraction to exist at the same time, inviting the viewer to multiple interpretations.
