Jax Arts Festival, Diriyah, KSA

Interconnected, 2022

Cutout installation

Interconnected, a new cutout installation made of 53 cutout cubes, was part of the first JAX Art Festival in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The installation aims to portray Saudi Arabia with an emphasis on Riyadh, spanning from 6000 years ago to the future with buildings that are still under construction. The drawings represent a selection of archeological founds, contemporary architectures and scenes as well as symbols of Saudi heritage and culture.

Each drawing is made of a single continuous line starting from the middle of the top side to the middle of the bottom side. Therefore, each square creates two complementary faces at the same time. The 53 different drawings are then mixed all around the installation inviting the viewers to create their own narrative as they walk around the installation.

Jax Art Festival is commissioned by MOC Saudi Arabia organized by Add with technical support of DConcept Expo.
